This section of the site is dedicated to educational materials. It is my goal to continually expand this page and create an invaluable resource for the studying musician. All of these materials are totally free. If you get value out of these resources, please consider donating (bottom of page). Doing what I love isn’t always the most profitable choice.
I owe this page to Charles McNeal for providing such an amazing website for all of us learning musicians. I used to spend hours everyday practicing from your transcriptions and learned so much about the players I love. I wouldn’t be the musician I am today without your hard work and I hope that I can give back in some way by providing the same for others. Thank you Charles!
Below are the transcriptions I’ve completed out of my own interest and fascination. If you’d like something transcribed for you, i.e. solos, chords, arrangements, you can contact me at email@example.com and I’d be happy to discuss details and pricing.
Transcriptions are in Concert, Bb, and Eb

When I first started studying the saxophone, my lessons were the highlight of my week. I'd cherish the music I made with my teacher. Together, we played duets and shared stories and I learned how much of a community the music world is. I offer that same, safe, and warm environment to all of my students, beginner to advanced, as it instills the camaraderie that makes music so magical. It brings me great joy to see a wide-eyed pupil marvel at the sounds they're producing with such minimal effort. There are no words to describe the moment when it all clicks and they "get it." There are no secrets or no magic formula, only love for the music and the places you let it take you.
I teach a broad range of topics from woodwind techniques (saxophones, flutes, and clarinets), to modern jazz improvisation and composition. No matter the level of a student, technique is my main focus. Everything after this falls into place naturally. Technique has many interpretations, but the one I like to use is "the ability of a musician to accurately and effortlessly express their ideas on an instrument." As a patient and thorough teacher, I create a safe, low pressure environment for the student to flourish as the individual, unique player they are.
Private/Group lessons are available in the Kansas City area, as well as Skype lessons for the rest of the world. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule lessons and for additional information.
